The preacher behind the Saturday Rapture prediction, Family Radio's Harold Camping, has said that a great earthquake would herald the beginning of the end-time tribulation around suppertime — that is, around 6 p.m. That tick of the clock has come and gone in parts of the Pacific, including Kiribati and New Zealand.
The precise timing of doomsday can be a squishy concept: Some accounts claim that the big quake has been predicted for 6 p.m. Pacific time, which is still more than 18 hours away. But I think most of us already suspect it won't make much of a difference whether we're talking about Kiribati time or California time, don't we? In any case, if you want to keep track of seismic activity around the world, you can check in with Earthquake.USGS.gov.
This whole exercise serves as a good reminder to keep your disaster preparedness kit up to date. Rapture aside, you never know when the next big earthquake, power outage or zombie apocalypse will come along.

I really hope the rapture would come so all those people can go to their heaven and leave us in peace. Or if chance and luck would save this planet from overpopulation and pollution by mysteriously sucking those people into their wished for oblivion it would probably be more just. People that do not care about sane, healthy life and it's joys and potentials are mainly just belligerent pests upon this earth, and would be better off in their heaven or their hell.

The "Preacher" doesn't know the Bible from a hole in the ground.
Facts: The Bible wasn't written for Pacific Standard Time, it was May 21, 2011 yesterday where it was written. The Bible doesn't contain the word Rapture in any translation. While it does predict the end of those viewed as wicked, it does not predict the end of the world. Also, no date can be deciphered from "clues" it even gives the reason (more than once) and tells just who knows when the end will come (one guess, not this guy) - funny how he missed that, its only something Jesus said himself (actually in the Bible).
There are more facts - but this is enough to know the "Preacher" is just another cult snake oil salesman. The true losers are those that followed him, look up and read the book yourselves people. Don't listen to what some moron told you he thinks. One read through and you would have known he was full of it.
YES!!! My sentiments exactly. The bible does say that "no man knows the hour of his return". I hate that people put the world on edge about the end time. Truly i believe its close but it could happen on the 22nd and we still wouldnt know. The best thing is to read the bible for yourself
I always ROFL when all these “enthusiasts” always somehow tie these type of events, that will effect entire world, to American time, dialect, culture or English language. I don’t think they even know that the world exist beyond US borders.
Whats the Bible???? The word Bible isnt mentioned in the Bible either ....... The Rapture is another term used for the calling away of the Church just like, the Bible is used for Gods word. I agree with you on everything else.
Voice of "Reason". Which Bible? There are probably 20 or 30 versions and few of them say the same thing. In fact I believe a new King James version is coming out soon which will say many things differently than the old Kings James version which in fact was the 5th or 6th version of that particular bible. You also have the Orthodox versions, the Roman Catholic versions, the Jewish versions, versions written by African branches of the Christian and the Jewish religions, and I am fairly sure that Oriental versions differ from the Western versions. The bible seems to say whatever the group or individual writing it wants it to say, none of which are the same. Claims that the bible was written by God really stretch the imagination when you consider the number of versions out there unless God changed his mind every time someone wrote a new version.
You are only reading a book that was translated from an old language many years ago. If you want to believe that the people who made that translation got it down verbatim, then good for you. Personally, I don't believe it is a fax from heaven. I'm not condemning the Bible, I'm only saying that it was a book that the contents of which are attributed to many men, NOTE MEN, and compiled over several years! Did you know that Thomas Jefferson, one of the founders of this great country did not believe in The King James version of the Bible? He even wrote his own Bible. Its called the Jefferson Bible.
While you were presenting your Biblical facts, you forgot to mention that it was written by mortal men who had no clue about when the world would end. I am not sure why people put so much faith in an old book. Granted it is a good fairy/fantasy tale, and gives us a look back on history, but it sure isn't where I go for a moral compass.
One fact is that no one person knows when the "end of time" will be. Another fact is that no one person has a promise of tomorrow. Some say there is no heaven, no hell, just the here and now. I say to them "what if your wrong". For arguments sake lets assume the Bible is a work of fiction (not my opinion). Isn't it still a great guide to the way people should live.

Nebuchadnezzar was the gold head. The large Medo/Persian Empire that was two countries joined together was the silver arms and chest, the bronze abdomen was the Greek Empire. I hate to tell some of you people, and that is the BIBLE is not a book, it is a group of letters that were written by the Disciples and sent to different people and towns. The Bible Also states, that after Jesus comes, he will take his people, and leave the world to the Devil for a thousand years, then GOD will come and destroy Satin and all his followers. There is nothing about destroying Earth at all.

The rapture is spose to take only 10,000 souls to heaven worldwide.. so like I said yesterday how do we know it hasnt already happend. cause even thinking something sinful once disqualifies you. what are the chances in a world of billions that you will know one of the 10,000 who will be taken? People vanish without a trace all the time never to be seen or heard from again. It could have already happend and we wouldnt know.. It doesnt say anywhere that GOD will post a list before or after of the lucky few.. People are stupid!

But it will occur, and if you read Revelation - the signs that were indicated are on the forefront of changing from the equivalent of "science fiction" to "science fact".
If you consider that Israel stopped being a nation, back in the 00??'s and then was re-born in 1948 under UN mandate. The one thing that has not come to pass yet is the new Temple in Jerusalem for the Anti-Christ to defile. - It seems the Muslims have a sacred site built on top of the old Jewish Temple site.
The Israelis have been restarting the priesthood, the Red Heffer which is required for the rituals has been genetically created. CNN and a global world network of News has come into existence so that people on the other side of this planet can seen events as they happen all around the globe...
Considering that 100 years ago all that could be accomplished is that you might receive a morse code message of a news event - I say we have progressed very far - to actually see an event unfolding 12 time zones away.

Well, I have a feeling when God does come and take all of his true believer's home, the last thing you will be thinking about is having a party. I do not believe any true believers were expecting to be gone today. Every belief, no matter whether it is about aliens, animal rights, or ones belief in God, is going to have someone who does not give a crap about it, other than trying to make a buck or make a name for themselves. I believe, and God will decide when it it time, and no mortal will know. I just hope by then, you have opened your mind to the possibilities that there is something better out there. Heck, if we all just followed the teachings in the Bible, whether you believed in the end results, we all be in a much better place! At least better than New Jersey.

There is no god. It's a fairy tale made up hundreds of times over by cultures all around the world, trying to explain how the universe works, as they huddle around their campfires, frightned of the dark.
You would do well to study the political history of the early church. Also, realize that the authors we credit, eg Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John for example were NOT the apostoles, who did not write the chapters credited to them.

Cmon, Traco (comment 6.2). Even the greatest saints thought, and did, sinful things a lot more than once - check out what Saint Paul says about himself. It's called being human.
Christianity isn't an obstacle course to see if you're good enough. It's God's offer to love you even though you aren't.

I do not believe any of this. The bible says that NO one person will know when he will return. It will not be today or when anyone 'predicts'. I believe that God will return when NO ONE PERSON IS THINKING ABOUT HIM. We are almost to that point now. So, I do not believe it will be much longer.

Well George, apparently we that are left have five months to figure that all out according to the Camping version of the Rapture. I would be curious to hear his sermon this Sunday, if he is still among us of course.
How does he explain this away? Hasn't he made previous predictions that never came to be? and yet he still has his believers. Amazing!

I think this preacher has been watching disaster movies such as 2012 too many times! No offense, John Cusack, great film! However, it is not reality.
I beg to differ science has found a recite increase in solar activity I think of all the so called things that might happen the events in the movie 2012 might be the most accurate. If not that a meteor, or stresses on the earth caused by the grand alignment next year will cause massive quakes as the poles reverse. Might think im a looon but there is a scientis thats been studying a fault line under the atlantic that has positive and negitive flow line that are on an exact timeframe of 26,000 years and guess what its been about 26,000 years since the last reversal of polarity. People lie right Mr Camping, however the earths crust doesnt!
